Project Details
Gene-environment interactions, neural circuits and generalization in dimensional endophenotypes of fear and anxiety in adults and children: development and reversibility (Z02)
Subject Area
Biological Psychiatry
Term
from 2008 to 2020
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 44541416
In its service function, 1.500 psychometrically, environmentally and (epi)genetically characterized adult volunteers and 500 catamnestically recruited children as well as an imaging backbone will be provided to all other experimental human B-/C-area subprojects. In its science function, the role of environmental factors, (epi)genetic factors, neural network markers and psychophysiological markers (conditioning, generalization) as well as their reversibility by a discrimination learning paradigm (de-generalization) will be investigated in anxiety-related phenotypes. Results are expected to contribute to a biomarker-guided individualized application of therapeutic and preventive modules derived from the concept of fear de-generalization.
