The dynamics of fear generalization (B03)

This sub-projects investigates the phenomenon of fear generalization. The preceding funding period yielded some surprising results by demonstrating a more precise representation of the pain-predicting stimulus in the insula than in behavioral measures. Following-up on these findings, the new funding period aims at investigating the temporal dynamics of this phenomenon. Further, it will be investigated whether fear generalization can be altered by emotional valence of the stimuli.
