Longterm effects of the Cognitive Behavioural Analysis System of Psychotherapy (CBASP) compared to Supportive Psychotherapy: 1- and 2-years follow up

Subject Area Personality Psychology, Clinical and Medical Psychology, Methodology
Term from 2009 to 2015
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 73768554

Final Report Abstract

In summary, we found disorder-specific psychotherapy to unfold stronger long-term effects than non-specific psychotherapy in terms of the number of well weeks, depressive symptoms, and quality of life in early-onset chronically depressed patients. Nevertheless, still more than half of the patients did not achieve remission two years after acute psychological therapy suggesting a maintenance treatment regimen over a longer period of time as usually applied in other chronic disorders.
