Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 31047526
The magnetic proximity effect in complex oxidic heterostructures and the electronic properties of thin oxide films on metal substrates will be investigated by means of ab initio methods. The changes in the electronic and magnetic properties of the non-magnetic oxide due to the neighbourhood of the magnetic component are investigated in the studies of the proximity effect. The investigations of oxidic films on metal substrates will be extended to quasicrystalline films. Furthermore, the influence of defects and adatoms on the electronic structure of complex oxides will be investigated.
