Zusammenfassung der Projektergebnisse

The Northern Upper Rhine Graben is tectonically still active as it is observed at its master faults with optical-mechanical crack gauges in the east in Darmstadt since more than 5 years and in the west at Deidesheim since more than 3 years. The movements in in Darmstadt are surprisingly high resulting in mean rates of sinistral movement at 0.94 mm/year and compression of 0.53 accompanied by uplift in ESE of 0.85 mm/year. Deidesheim reveals contraction of 0.273 mm/year accompanied by dextral movement of 0.283 and uplift in NW of 0.177 mm/year. All movements are in agreement with the regional stress regime as deduced by tectonic analyses.
