This proposal is directly related to the sub-project that has already been approved as part of the Heisenberg funding: "Die Ubiquität des Horusmythos, sein Ausgreifen auf die Kulte anderer Gottheiten und die theologische Einbindung neuer Themen am Beispiel von Dekoration und Kultfunktion der hinteren Kultkapellen des Großen Horustempels von Edfu: Neuedition und Gesamtbearbeitung der Räume J und K (,chapelles lunaires')". It is specifically about personnel and travel funds that are to be used to scientifically document the wall decoration of two chapels in the temple of Edfu. On the basis of an already existing photo documentation, digital drawings are to be made on electronic drawing boards, which supplement the digital photos and thus meet an established standard for editions of Greco-Roman temples. In contrast to the editio princeps of 1892, the given unity of text and image is retained and the polychromic character of the scenes, which can still be seen today, is documented for the first time. This documentation is a basic element of the edition process and the overall philological work on these temple rooms as part of the above-mentioned sub-project of the Heisenberg funding. But it is also of great importance beyond the specific approach of the sub-project and of overarching academic interest.
