Project Details
Regulation of Treg cell subsets and function by the atypical IkB protein Bcl-3 (A05)
Subject Area
Immunology
Term
since 2023
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 490846870
Our preliminary data indicate that the atypical NF-kB member Bcl-3 acts as a T cell-intrinsic regulator that affects survival, development, proliferation, and differentiation of Treg cells in different tissues. Here, we will identify pathways and Bcl-3 targets that positively or negatively affect Treg cells in a cell-intrinsic manner, with a specific focus on intestinal, microbiome-induced RORgt+ Treg cells, both under steady state conditions and during intestinal inflammation. Together, these results may lead to the identification of novel therapeutic targets for the treatment of IBD and other diseases.
