Project Details
Effects of hippocampal vascularization patterns on the neural resources of MTL neurocognitive circuits (B04)
Subject Area

Term
since 2021
Project identifier

The medial temporal lobe (MTL) is crucial for episodic memory formation. MTL integrity is affected by pathology and environmental factors. Hippocampal vascularization could play an additional role. We aim to resolve whether hippocampal vascularization patterns segregate along distinct MTL neurocognitive (meso-scale) circuits. Using advanced modeling technology, we will investigate the relationship between hippocampal vascular supply, MTL pathology, integrity, myeloarchitecture, and subregion-specific cognitive functions. We will test the interaction between cognitive training and hippocampal vascularization on MTL function.
