Data-driven scientific discoveries rely on the repeated adaptation of DAWs. During an experi-mental procedure, the specifications of DAWs are usually adapted in a step-by-step fashion to meet the refined requirements. In the first phase of FONDA, we addressed the question of how to support the design of DAWs for such scientific exploration from the perspective of a single user. In the second phase, our subproject will shift the focus from the usability requirements of a single analyst to the perspective of an entire scientific community, in which analysis pipelines are shared, best practices for data handling and experimental protocols emerge, and benchmarks and reference datasets are published. Specifically, our focus will be on the neuroimaging com-munity, where DAWs handle sequences of brain imaging data to reduce noise in the acquired signals, to model brain responses, and to visualize and interpret respective results.
