Project Details
The Aesthetics of Co-Creativity in Early Modern English Literature (C05)
Subject Area
European and American Literary and Cultural Studies
Term
since 2019
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 405662736
The project aims at reconstructing an aesthetics of co-creativity in Early Modern English literature. Despite increasing attempts at uncovering the common practice of collaborative authorship, the most common view today is still biased by concepts of the author as a single agent (or even genius). Rather than identifying the individual contributions to co-authored works, the project explores the conceptual and practical implications of working together. In the second funding phase, it will especially relate the communal dimension of text production to the creative dimension of various communities, based on a corpus of drama, poetry, and pragmatic texts.
