By means of narrative examples of individual crimes, crime literature deals with the scope and shortcomings of societal values and criminal norms – and thereby it challenges the legal discourse. Conversely, criminal law reacts to narratives of crime and conspiracy theories in literature and the media. The subproject analyses how literature and law influence each other on this field and how the underlying reflection on societal norms changes, depending on the media chosen and the historical context.
