The „Deutsche Reichsanzeiger und Preußische Staatsanzeiger“ was a daily official annunciation newspaper of the German Reich and Prussia, published from 1871 to 1945. Due to the long publishing period from 1871 to 1945 it is a „long-distance runner“, and in its role as an official annunciation newspaper distributed all over the Reich it can be considered a „Leitmedium“. The Reichanzeiger is an important source for history, law and economics. Today Mannheim University Library already presents an electronic edition that was generated from the Reichsanzeiger’s microfilm edition. However, this provisional edition comes with some gaps, low quality scans and only a rudimentary structuring concerning form and content. The Reichsanzeiger comprises appr. 22.600 editions with appr. 570.000 pages. The submitted project aims to provide the free accessability, structuring of form and content, supplementary digitalization, quality control and improved OCR recognition of the German Reichsanzeiger.
