In this project, we aim to investigate the role of Casein kinase (CK) 1 and 2 dependent signalling pathways involved in megakaryocyte (MK) development, including regulation of MK cytoskeleton and proplatelet formation, which are all elemental for thrombopoiesis or thrombocytopenic disorders. Additionally, vesicular trafficking, tubulin-dependent processes in platelet adhesion, activation and intracellular Ca2+ increase will be investigated, which are all critically involved in arterial thrombus formation and thrombotic disorders, such as myocardial infarction or ischaemic stroke.
