Project Details
miRNAs as systemic specificity determinants in autoregulation of symbiosis (C07*)
Subject Area
Organismic Interactions, Chemical Ecology and Microbiomes of Plant Systems
Term
from 2018 to 2021
Project identifier

Here, we propose to investigate a candidate micro RNA (miRNA), miR171c, as possible systemic inhibitory signal (SDI) in autoregulation of nodulation. To confirm its SDI-like properties, and identify further SDI-like candidate miRNAs, we plan to perform small RNA sequencing followed by target identification using existing degradome libraries, and functionally analyze the respective miRNA-target nodes. We will further use a fluorophore-based approach to define domains of micro RNA mediated susceptibility control in roots during symbiosis initiation and progression.
