Term
from 2017 to 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 318860657
This project is an extension of the DFG project "Stereogrammetric fusion of optical and SAR data for the reconstruction of urban scenes". The scientific goal of both projects is the investigation of a stereogrammetric fusion of optical and SAR remote sensing data for a reconstruction of 3D information in urban areas. In that context, the main focus of this project is an investigation of deep learning techniques for SAR-optical image matching, since the matching process constitutes the core challenge in SAR-optical stereo. The results of the research endeavour will help to make the analysis of heterogeneous satellite image data as flexible as possible, in particular with respect to a rapid 3D mapping in time-critical applications.
