400 MHz Kernresonanzspektrometer

Fachliche Zuordnung Molekülchemie
Förderung Förderung in 2015
Projektkennung Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Projektnummer 282313779

The Institute of Organic Chemistry hosts four spectrometers. One of these four spectrometers, the 200 MHz spectrometer should be replaced by a 400 MHz spectrometer as its field strength is not sufficient for most recent applications in the analysis of organic synthesis products and structure elucidation. In recent years only 1H-1D spectra were recorded on the 200 MHz spectrometer due to its limitations. This lead to significant waiting times for heteronuclear spectra on the other NMR spectrometers of the institute of organic chemistry. In addition, it is getting difficult to get spare parts for the DPX console when replacements are needed and increasing down-time due to technical failures is reducing its further utility. Additionally, the existing machine consumes extraordinary volumes of helium which is economically not justifiable. The new 400MHz spectrometer will be part of the Open Access area at the institute of Organic Chemistry where students, Ph.D. students and postdoctoral fellows of the appointed working groups submit their experiments independently. Nevertheless, the spectrometer is supervised daily by two full-time technicians of the NMR Department of the Institute of Organic Chemistry.
