Project Details
Central imaging facility for advanced light and correlated light and electron microscopy (Z01)
Subject Area
Medicine
Term
from 2015 to 2018
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 246781735
The project Z01 provides a central platform for state-of-the-art technologies and resources like 1) super-resolution stimulated emission depletion (STED) and two-photon confocal microscopy, 2) intelligent, automatized time-lapse imaging, 3) high-pressure freeze (HPF) sample preparation, 4) correlated light and electron microscopy (CLEM) and 5) 3D EM reconstructions. This platform will be available for all project groups of the CRC 1140. We will focus on the development of new automatized imaging methods for online tracking of biological structures in 3D as well as methods for structure-preserving embedding of kidney tissues for 3D EM reconstructions etc. A comprehensive program with courses and standard operating instructions will ensure an effective use of the equipment and methods.
