Exact results in gauge theories
Final Report Abstract
In three out of five sub-projects we have produced the most important scientific advances. On the one hand, the progress on “Integrability and Exact effective couplings” and on the other hand the connections between exact results in supersymmetric gauge theories, 2D CFTs and integrable models. Moreover, sub-sectors with bi-fundamantal hypermultiplets we have discovered that they correspond to dynamical spin chain and that they can be solved using elliptic quantum groups. The advancements concerning the 2D Toda CFT are beyond what we had envisioned in the initial application. Moreover, the extend to which we where able to push the program for N = 1 theories in class Sk was the biggest positive “surprise”. This turned our attention to attempting to use Localization techniques for theories with only N = 1 supersymmetry, a big open problems in our field. With this goal in mind we organised with Bruno Le-Floch and Masahito Yamazaki a summer school on “Supersymmetric localization and exact results” at IHES, which was received with great success. We also have had deviations from the original concept, following major breakthroughs that happened in our field in the meantime. Firstly, we worked and published a paper on the novel non-Lagrangian 4D N = 3 theories. Moreover, following the modern bootstrap techniques which apply in general dimensions and have been discovered the last few years, we tried to enter the Bootstrap program through a study of the conformal window of QCD. Finally, we were able to use our expertise on 4D N = 2 SCFTs to obtain the Exact Deconstruction of the 6D (2,0) Theory and to produce novel Ward identities in the Higgs branch and to test anomaly matching fully non-perturbative for type B anomalies.
