Gasverteilung und Akkretion in Galaxien der CLUES Simulationen
Zusammenfassung der Projektergebnisse
Within our project we studied the formation and evolution of low mass galaxies. To this end we analysed constrained simulations which have been performed within the CLUES collaboration. These simulations reproduce the typical cosmological environment of the Local Group. In particular we have studied the impact of reionisation on nearby isolated dwarf galaxies and explained the relative dearth of intermediate-aged stars in nearby dwarfs. We found that dwarf-dwarf mergers can explain the formation of multiple distinct populations of young and old stars and the origin of age and metallicity gradients in dwarf spheroidals. In a subsequent project we started to study the properties of groups of dwarfs identified in semi-analytical galaxy catalogs of the Small MultiDark Simulation.
