The project eComparatio aims to develop a modular application that allows to compare multiple versions of a text (from manuscripts, printed or digital text editions) with each other with the possibility to create a critical apparatus for digital editions of ancient authors. The number of texts is not limited, the input format is flexible. The application will be scalable, the result can be exported as a list to create a critical apparatus. As a further module we plan to connect the application with the CITE architecture (a framework for scholarly reference) and especially the CTS (Canonical Text Services, a network service for identifying texts and for retrieving fragments of texts by canonical reference expressed as CTS URNs), also with HTTP and the PID-service of CLARIN-D.
