Selective adjustment of the specifications of the grinding worm can lead to a significant enhancement of the grinding tool performance and affect its tool life. Yet, it is so far not possible to forecast the influence of the porosity and grain size for different process conditions for the wear behavior and grinding-in period. One reason for this is the incomplete understanding of the influence of the interactions for continuous generating grinding with vitrified bonded CBN-worms. The main objective of this research work is to achieve a fundamental understanding of the interactions of the grinding worm specifications and the process parameters relating to value of the grinding-in period for continuous generating grinding. Furthermore, the influence of the thermo-mechanical load on the tooth flanks and the temperatures during grinding will be studied. Conducting specific experimental grinding operations as well as measuring the process temperatures will lead to the aimed main goal of this work.
