While working on the recent project at the city archive of Zakynthos, the applicant follows the suggestion of the catholic archbishop of Corfu the Ionian Islands (Monsignore Ioannis Spiteris) to study the rich papal sources on the topic of colonial church architecture in Greece 17.th - 18.th centuries in Rome. We know that archbishop A. M. Carlini demanded a church building programme from pope Clement XI. for Greece since 1705. Concerning this the applicant got the permission (Permessa Nr. 53620/10) to do so at the "Archivio Storico di Propaganda Fide" in Rome. Here the rich papal correspondence of the archbishops (relazioni) with the holy see, concerning the topic have to be studied. Furthermore the sources should be cross-checked concerning earlier or later endeavours on the topic. The applicant is invited by Professore Vincenzo Ruggieri, S. J. of Pontificio Istituto Orientale (Rome), who is the host, and who will be of assistance and of further help personally in all related matters on the spot.
