EXC 1075: Technologiefusion für multifunktionale Leichtbaustrukturen - MERGE

Zusammenfassung der Projektergebnisse
Zukünftige Technologie- und Produktentwicklungen werden an der Steigerung der Ressourcen- und Energieeffizienz für einen nachhaltigen Klimaschutz unter deutlicher Verringerung von Treib-hausgasemissionen gemessen. Zur Durchsetzung der erforderlichen Maßnahmen entfalten Schlüsseltechnologien für die Großserienfertigung von Bauteilen mit geringem Gewicht den größ-ten Impact. Das Hauptanliegen des Exzellenzclusters MERGE „Technologiefusion für multifunkti-onale Leichtbaustrukturen“ ist die Verschmelzung von großserientauglichen Basistechnologien zur ressourceneffizienten Herstellung von Leichtbaustrukturen hoher Leistungs- und Funktionsdichte. Die Mission des Clusters ist die Erschließung der vorhandenen Einsparpotentiale sowohl in der Produktion durch Technologiefusion als auch während der Nutzungsphase durch Massereduktion. MERGE verfolgt damit die langfristige Strategie der sog. Bivalenten Ressourceneffizienz (BRE-Strategie). Die Forschungsarbeiten fokussieren Kombinationstechnologien von In-line- und In-situ-Produkti-onsprozessen der Metall-, Kunststoff- und Textilverarbeitung, die sich allesamt durch Großserien-tauglichkeit auszeichnen und künftig auf flexibilisierte Massenproduktion ausgerichtet werden. Durch die Integration von Mikro- und Nanosystemen wird zusätzlich die Funktionalität von Leicht-baustrukturen gesteigert, die zur vollen Ausschöpfung des Energieeinsparungs- und Leichtbaupo-tentials beiträgt und zugleich eine durchgängige Digitalisierung von der Produktentstehung über die Nutzungsphase bis zur Wiederverwertung erlaubt. Die Hybridisierung von Prozessen und Strukturen bedarf verfahrensübergreifend u. a. der Gestaltung maßgeschneiderter Grenzflächen, der multikriteriellen Optimierung sowie der Bewertung der Ressourceneffizienz und Nachhaltigkeit durch einen systemischen Ansatz. Die enge Zusammenarbeit von Ingenieur- und Naturwissenschaften einerseits und von technolo-gie- und auslegungsorientierten Fachdisziplinen andererseits findet innerhalb der etablierten Zent-ralen Einrichtung MERGE der Technischen Universität Chemnitz (TUC) als interdisziplinäre For-schungsplattform statt. Die institutionelle Konzentration der Forschungspartner am Technologie-Campus begünstigt den Erkenntnistransfer zur Prozess-verschmelzung und hat zu einer Prioritä-tensetzung der TUC vor allem in den Kernkompetenzen „Materialien und Intelligente Systeme“ und „Ressourceneffiziente Produktion und Leicht-bau“ geführt. Die Profilschärfung wird unterstützt durch die umgesetzten Maßnahmen in MERGE, wie z. B. die Etablierung von internationalem Mas-terstudiengang, Universitäts- und Stiftungsprofessuren, OpenAccess Journal, Wissenschafts- und Industriebeirat, MTC e.V., internationalem Leichtbau-Netzwerk MERGEurope. Der Ausbau des 2016 in Betrieb genommenen MERGE Technologies Centre ist bereits fester Bestandteil der stra-tegischen Ausrichtung der Universität und des Freistaates Sachsen.
