Action selection and movement preparation require cross-modal sensory integration, e.g. when adjusting the force required to reach a spatial target. We study such integration of visuospatial with somatosensory information in the frontoparietal sensorimotor network of rhesus monkeys. We ask if planned force of a movement modulates spatial motor goal encoding and ensure behavioural relevance of the force information using decision making tasks. Our project will help to understand visuo-somatosensory cue integration in guiding actions.
