Parameter uncertainties occur frequently in simulation-based aerodynamics and aeroacoustics for high-lift aircraft. Modelling and quantifying these uncertainties is very important with regard to a robust design. To this end, the project develops dedicated (polynomial) surrogate models and Bayesian methods. As uncertainties in the flight dynamics and the overall aircraft design have been studied in much detail, emphasis will be put on quantifying uncertainties for noise-reducing materials, noise propagation into the aircraft cabin and robust flow control.
