Project Details
Influence of Complex Surface Structures on the Aerodynamic Loss Behavior of Blades (B03)
Subject Area
Hydraulic and Turbo Engines and Piston Engines
Term
from 2010 to 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 119193472
The objective of sub-project is to determine the aerodynamic effect of worn and regenerated surface structures on compressor and turbine blades. In the 1st and 2nd funding period (FP), extensive investigations were performed to quantify the aerodynamic effects of these surface structures on the profile losses. The conclusions of the first two FPs will be used in the 3rd FP to develop a model to predict the specific effect of worn and regenerated surface structures on the compressor and turbine performance. The model will allow determining the specific effects of surface regeneration on an entire engine system.
