Final Report Abstract

In the past period, we investigated the moist Rayleigh-Benard convection model in different parametric regimes in order to understand the role of phase changes on the transport and turbulence properties. Comprehensive numerical studies have been conducted within a Galerkin model and direct numerical simulations. We demonstrated that this simplified model has the potential to reproduce several aspects of atmospheric moist convection such as the appearance of localized convective patterns which are associated with cloud formation.
