Project Details
Open-shell compounds of Si-Pb with unusual bonding motives (A05)
Subject Area
Inorganic Molecular Chemistry - Synthesis and Characterisation
Term
from 2009 to 2017
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 60803019
The first part of the research project involves synthetic, spectroscopic and theoretical studies of un-precedented open-shell complexes, which contain a transition metal-tetrel multiple bond, and are ob-tained from tetrylidyne complexes of the general formula [Tp'(CO)2M=ER] (M = Cr - W, Tp' = scorpi-onato ligand), [(k3-tmps)(CO)2Nb=ER] (tmps = SiMe(CH2PMe2)3) and [Cp*(CO)3Ti=ER] (E = Si - Pb, R = aryl) in 1e-transfer reactions. In the second part of the research project novel open-shell, low-valent silicon compounds are explored, which are accessible from NHC-stabilized precursors (NHC = N-heterocyclic carbene) upon reduction.
