The aim of the Research Training Group is to foster an empirical oriented scientific rising generation in the area of research in school related teaching and learning. This will take place in the context of an interdisciplinary cooperation between researchers in the fields of educational science, psychology, and domain related didactics with experimental as well as field oriented approaches and with quantitative as well as qualitative methods. Achieving this aim the thematical framework of Successful Matching of School Learning Determinants: Understanding and Optimisation was chosen.
In a number of dissertation projects aspects of potential interactions between student and teacher characteristics, teaching methods and domain specific contents in their effects on different teaching goals are empirically studied. In the applicated first phase of the Research Training Group the understanding of fit constellations in school related learning is one core issue of the planned dissertation projects. However, in the second phase intervention studies and implementation projects to foster adequate fit constellations will be focussed. All dissertation projects are advised by at least two researchers from at least two different disciplines (e.g., didactics - education, didactics - psychology, education - psychology). In each of the outlined dissertation projects at least two doctoral students from different disciplines are involved.
