Project Details
Development of innovative supercomputer hardware architectures for lattice QCD and similar applications (C01)
Subject Area
Theoretical Computer Science
Term
from 2008 to 2020
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 35592816
Cost- and energy-efficient supercomputing resources are key for future progress in Lattice QCD research. This project will continue efforts on developing innovative supercomputing architectures together with industrial partners. For QPACE 4 we will enter a co-design process with Cray and Broadcom in the areas of processor, node as well as network architectures and leverage the opportunities of emerging high-performance ARM processors.
