Project Details
Atomic structure and local electronic properties of nanomaterials (A04)
Subject Area
Experimental Condensed Matter Physics
Term
from 2008 to 2019
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 43659573
The aim of this project is the investigation of the atomic structure as well as of the local electronic properties, local strain, electrostatic polarization, current paths, and local potentials also under in-situ biasing of nanostructure materials as well as of related devices. For this purpose, high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), electron holography (EH) as well as cross-sectional scanning tunneling microscopy (XSTM) and spectroscopy (XSTS) will be applied and, in particular, further developed for solving challenging questions in nanostructured devices e.g. InGaAs submonolayers, stressor-induced In(Ga)As structures, and nitride-based nanostructures and devices.
