Mapping of short range correlations at oxide surfaces and interfaces (B07)

Subject Area Experimental Condensed Matter Physics
Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics
Term from 2008 to 2019
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 31047526

Electron pair coincidence experiments allow an insight into the strength and nature of the dynamical and non-local electronic correlation that we will be investigating in the coming funding period for metal/oxide layers, both theoretically and experimentally. Of interest is also the fundamental role of collective excitations during the correlated pair emission, in particular for oxide systems. A further aspect is the time-resolved coincidence spectroscopy. Using quantum kinetic methods we will develop a theory for calculating and interpreting the time-dependent coincidence rate and make suggestions for feasible experiments.
