Subject Area
Experimental Condensed Matter Physics

Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 31047526
The central question of the proposal is, if it is possible to temporarily localize only a single type of charge carriers (especially holes) within polar (Mg,Zn)O quantum wells with strong quantum-confined Stark effect in order to mediate a ferromagnetic coupling between magnetic ions doped into the quantum well. For that, the lifetime opt of optically stimulated excitons being confined in the quantum well will be determined and compared to the relaxation time el of the lateral transport of optically stimulated carriers within the well. If the experiments show that el opt we have a clear hint for the localization of a single carrier type.
