Concepts based on semiconductor quantum dots might be capable of producing Fock states with a well-defined number of photons larger than one for applications in nonlinear quantum optics. This project focuses on the development and analysis of systems combining single colloidal quantum dots and nanophotonic structures for broadband en-hancement of light-matter interaction. It aims at deterministic and ultrafast quantum manipulation of light. Interdisciplinary studies of few-fermion quantum dynamics and concerning the nanochemistry of semiconductor-polymer hybrid particles are prerequisite to achieve this goal.
