Project Details
High-resolution modelling of physical-biogeochemical interactions in the tropical ocean: determination of potential future trends (A02)
Subject Area
Oceanography
Term
from 2008 to 2019
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 27542298
The high-resolution coupled biogeochemistry-circulation model hierarchy developed in the previous phases will be utilised to aid the interpretation and synthesis of local observations in the eastern tropical Pacific and Atlantic Ocean, to determine the role of physical and biogeochemical processes in decadal changes of the tropical oxygen minimum zones, and to obtain refined projections of their 21st-century trends that may be expected as a consequence of anthropogenic climate change.
