Project Details
Development of novel Ceramic Matrix Composites for Rocket Nozzles (D07)
Subject Area
Mechanics
Term
from 2008 to 2016
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 26293245
Within the 3rd funding period the development of advanced C/C-SiC ceramic matrix composite nozzle struc-tures is continued. Novel UHTC-matrix systems will be implemented into the C/C-SiC material which will in-crease the erosion and temperature stability. Novel C/C-SiC nozzle structures will be manufactured, charac-terized and tested in hot gas conditions. In cooperation with project D3 a C/C-SiC material model will be developed including the damage behavior in order to give a qualitative and quantitative lifetime prediction of complex C/C-SiC nozzle structures. Finite element analysis will be performed on C/C-SiC nozzle struc-tures including thermal and mechanical loads.
