SFB 271:  Molecular Genetics of Morphoregulatory

Subject Area Biology
Term from 1994 to 2002
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 5475768

The special research sector has as objective to describe the retransmission and working of biological information in the cells within morphological processes on molecular levels to basically comprehend the relevant mechanisms which play an essential role at their determination and differentation. For this reason, the various projects were set up on several levels.Several projects are concerned with the vast and timely activities of the individual gene which can be made responsible for the morphogenetic processes. In some other projects, singular genetic elements are brougt to a molecular analysis which form the basis for morphoregulatory processes. In further projects, factors with defined biochemical function and morphoregulatory potential are being analysed. By inclusion of various organism, the common molecular and functional principles ought to be made recognizable.
