Project Details
Characterization of life event-triggered inflection signals and emotion regulation in a Cacna1c mouse model (B02)
Subject Area
Biological Psychiatry
Term
since 2024
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 521379614
The project uses a Cacna1c mouse model to investigate the impact of gene x stress interactions on the occurrence and time course of symptom changes and alterations in emotion regulation. (i) We use validated stressors inducing the physiological response to stressful life events; (ii) we assess changes in key cognitive-emotional mechanisms, most notably emotion regulation, by continuous sampling of home cage behavior with relevance to anxiety and depression-like changes; (iii) we investigate stressor-induced differences in prefrontal network activity using in vivo and ex vivo electrophysiology.
