Subject Area
Social and Cultural Anthropology and Ethnology
Term
since 2024
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 517096657
This subproject aims to cast home(s) with a view to and from the Global South and, using Nepal as an example, to achieve a repositioning in the light of new global nationalist, populist or other ‚tribal‘ entities and essentialisms. Home is considered in the context of cultural diversity, transnational migration and multimedia effectiveness, especially in the context of socio-aesthetic, in particular musical, artistic, as well as cultural heritage-related activist practices of urban and translocal neighbourhood formation between about 2000 and today.
