Project Details
Metabolic control of neutrophil swarming and cluster formation (B06*)
Subject Area
Immunology
Term
since 2024
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 449437943
Neutrophil swarming and cluster formation are essential for containing lesioned tissue sites during sterile inflammation and infections. We here aim at identifying critical metabolic pathways that underlie the self-organization behavior of swarming neutrophils. With a focus on glucose metabolism, we aim at (i) mechanistically dissecting how intracellular glycogen controls neutrophil swarming, and (ii) functionally characterizing and comparing metabolism-controlled swarming responses of distinct neutrophil maturation and activation states.
