Project Details
High resolution mass spectrometer for metabolomics and structural elucidation
Subject Area
Plant Sciences
Term
Funded in 2024
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 544185056
The Laboratory for Analytical Chemistry of the Center for Plant Molecular Biology (ZMBP) at the University of Tübingen is a central service laboratory for metabolomics and structure elucidation. It provides its services primarily to the ZMBP and its research networks, but also to all groups of the entire University of Tübingen. Within the scope of this application, the current mass spectrometer of the laboratory, which is more than 12 years old and meanwhile in need of repair, will be replaced. At the same time, however, as a central infrastructure measure for the entire University of Tübingen, a modern, high-resolution mass spectrometer for the structural elucidation of unknown compounds is to be applied for, since such a device is currently not available at the university. As a result, a wide variety of research approaches from different areas of the university can currently only be successfully processed with difficulty, with delays or even not at all.
