Finer analysis of the HLA-DO inhibition of HLA-DM

During my one-year fellowship, I will map the residues that mediate DM/DO interaction through the generation and identification of DM mutants as well as DO mutants that impair the normal function of the DM/DO complex. In addition, kinetic studies will be performed to test the hypothesis that DO is a competitive inhibitor of DM.
