We have started a project for the study of the AGN/merging connection using Integral Fields Spectroscopy. We have selected a sample of IRAS low-z merger galaxies, candidates to transition objects between luminous IR/mergers and AGNs. We obtained low-resolution integral field spectroscopy of this sample of galaxies in order to study the stellar and ionized gas structures (continuum, absorption and emission lines), and 2D gas kinematics, in order to determine, in each spatial point: (i) the SFR (star formation rate) and history, (ii) gas flows, (iii) disentangle the AGN/merging connection and (iv) looking for hidden AGNs.
