Transcriptional control by arginine methylation

In the past funding period we identified several novel interaction partners of PRMT1 and PRMT4 using different affinity-purification strategies in combination with proteomics. Many of these nuclear interaction partners serve as substrates of the associated PRMT. In the next funding period we will focus on the identification and functional characterization of these newly discovered methylation events, i.e. p14/ARF methylation by PRMT1, c-Myb methylation by PRMT1/PRMT4 and CHD3/CHD4 methylation by PRMT4.
