Material fatigue and damage are in many cases determined by the change in vibration behavior. Laser Doppler Vibrometry (LDVy) allows non-contact vibration measurement measurement of large building structures, but measurement from the ground results in oblique incidence angles for measurement points at height and measurement of building backsides with respect to sensor position is impossible. For this purpose, the use of mirrors on drones is currently being explored, but this does not completely suppress interference from the atmosphere. To further minimize measurement uncertainties, this project is exploring a new approach in which a laser provides laser light and power to a laser Doppler vibrometer (LDV) on the drone. This idea eliminates all interference on the path of the light from the ground to the drone. The realization of a compact sensor solution with minimal power consumption and energy harvesting as well as a radio data transmission to the ground are required partial solutions for this project. In the project, new solutions are being researched with which vibration amplitudes can be measured with minimal measurement uncertainty and damage to structures can be detected as early as possible.
