Project Details
Interoperable standardized and harmonized TARGET-MPN data platform
Subject Area
Hematology, Oncology
Term
since 2024
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 517204983
Within the Z-project, we will establish an interoperable standardized and harmonized data platform for the consortium to allow for integrative data analysis. Based on standard Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR), we will use the data generated within the TARGET-MPN consortium as well as accompanying data to build a data platform that will be efficient to meet the needs of the consortium for the planned integrative data analyses, but also for future health research, for which data interoperability becomes increasingly important. In brief, this project will provide the platform for data management and data sharing following the FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable) principles, i.e. a multi-omics data repository integrating metadata and processing standards from the German Human Genome-Phenome Archive (GHGA) for documentation and analysis of genomic, transcriptomic, epigenomic and other omics datasets. Our interoperable data platform will include data harmonization and standardization, thereby providing a valuable resource for not only the consortium members, but also the research community in general as interoperable interfaces as well as data harmonization and standardization will allow the connection to other data-sharing networks. There will be four work packages covering the following aspects: (1) development of a data management plan (DMP); (2) implementation of FAIR principles - definition of common data elements (CDEs); (3) standardization and harmonization process; and (4) data security.
