In the transfer project, the methods for process-actual correction of the thermal length change of the tool with chuck are used and expanded to include the spindle nose of a motor spindle and the heat input on the spindle side. In the improved correction approach, which has real-time capability due to discrete elements, the temperature is only measured on the rotating components of the spindle system at optimized positions, i.e. not on the exchangeable tool / chuck itself. Instead, measured values of process forces, drive currents and control data for a sensor data function are used to model the heat source term on the tool.
