Project Details
High-resolution 300kV Transmission Electron Microscope
Subject Area
Chemical Solid State and Surface Research
Term
Funded in 2024
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 534223030
The aim of this proposal is to strengthen the field of electron microscopy for materials science, chemistry, and physics at the Technical University of Munich and to equip both, the recently founded Electron Microscopy Core Facility of the TU Munich and the newly established “Chair of Electron Microscopy with research emphasis on Energy Materials”. The professorship is embedded in the DFG-funded e-conversion Cluster of Excellence (www.e-conversion.de) and was created in view of the important role that electron microscopy plays in many of the projects pursued by the members of e-conversion. This proposal is focused on a high-end aberration corrected transmission electron microscope that will be specifically configured and equipped to enable in-situ and operando studies at highest possible lateral resolution.
