Project Details
Plasticity of the Calvin-Benson cycle in Arabidopsis in response to changing light and nitrogen availability over a diurnal cycle (B06)
Subject Area
Plant Physiology
Term
since 2024
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 512328399
The project will study plasticity in photosynthetic metabolism including the Calvin-Benson cycle (CBC) to nitrogen availability and light intensity as two key resources. The CBC is a key process in photosynthetic carbon fixation and intimately connected to plant central metabolism, yet no comprehensive kinetic models of the CBC are available. Thus, the project will generate a large-scale kinetic model of photosynthetic metabolism in leaves and use accession-specific model simulations to study the genetic basis of plasticity in central photosynthetic metabolism.
