Project Details
Material Modelling and Simulation of Deposition AM Processes on the Part Scale (B06*)
Subject Area
Applied Mechanics, Statics and Dynamics
Term
since 2024
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 414265976
This project will develop a modelling and simulation approach across scales starting from consistent material models for bulk deposited AM concrete and inter-layers towards a reduced substitute model for fast simulations of complex geometries on the part scale. We will describe material properties of AM parts and their evolution during the printing process whereby the material modelling of a layer sets in directly after the deposition of the fresh concrete. Without loss of generality, shotcrete is considered as a prototype material in the 2nd funding period. High accuracy will be achieved by combining novel visco-plastic material models thoroughly calibrated at experiments especially designed for this purpose in this project with variationally consistent homogenization and the Finite Cell Method.
